Ilsington Community Project   Newsletter No.5 - June 2010

Hello and welcome to our June Ilsington Community Project Newsletter - otherwise known as a progress report!

Building

The architects’ drawings are very nearly complete and, when the required building regulations have been granted and the specifications drawn up will shortly be sent out to tender.

Funding

Fund raising is ever ongoing and we have recently heard that we have been successful in our application for a £20,000 grant from the Plunkett Foundation.  We are also awaiting approval of a £20,000 loan from the Coop Bank.

On a more local level, the Ilsington Art Show very kindly contributed £175 from their annual show last weekend and we received £625 from the Cycling and Walking fundraiser in May. Thank You.

The Community Market continues to provide not only a steady income, over £1000, from the teas but also keeps the Project very much at the forefront of local events.

Local Support

At the considerable risks of repeating ourselves, an obvious show of local support is crucial to our grant applications so please do buy your shares or slates if you have not already done so.

We are always looking for new ideas for fund raising and would welcome any suggestions or offers of help. Experience in retail management would be a great addition to our hardworking team of Committee Members

For further information about the project please contact either Sue Norris on 01364-661128 or Alan Hobbs on 01364-661576. If you would like to make a donation or buy shares or slates, please click here to download a Share Application Form.

For further progress reports please look at the Parish website -www.ilsingtonparish.co.uk or the village hall website -www.ilsingtonvillagehall.co.uk    The Community Shop  and the meeting room will be a huge benefit both for individuals and the village as a whole so I do hope you feel you can help make this happen.

There will be no Community Market during July and August, but do come along to the Ilsington Parish Flower Show on 17th July and look out for details of the next market, hopefully in September.
